1. What is the Checkpoint Skillbuilder Series™ and how does it work?

The first step is to utilize the Checkpoint™ Feedback Competency System to analyze the performance of your managers, identifying their strengths and weaknesses. Then the Checkpoint Skillbuilder Series™ is implemented to create an organized, self-study, professional development system. Skillbuilder then guides the participants through an interactive process for developing specific actions and goals that will strengthen their capabilities in the targeted areas.

  • K – The “K” in K-S-S stands for actions you are doing well and want to KEEP Doing.
  • S – The first “S” in K-S-S stands for actions you want to STOP doing. Your Feedback Report showed behaviors or actions that bring negative results. STOP Doing these things.
  • S – The other “S” in K-S-S stands for actions you want to START Doing. As you learn actions that enhance your effectiveness, START Doing them. As you gain knowledge and acquire ideas for better leadership performance, apply them to your work.

4. How long does it take to complete the Checkpoint Skillbuilder Series assessment?

It only takes about 15 minutes for the participant to complete the entire assessment. Once they are finished, it is scored immediately and automatically so you get the results very quickly.

5. What do the reports cover?

The Checkpoint Skillbuilder report consists of a Personal Action Plan which will help the participant improve their delegation skills, the consistency of their performance, their commitment to organizational goals, etc. The report also stresses the value and importance of working with a performance coach, and provides guidelines for doing so.

6.Is this something a manager can do by him/herself?

It is advised that the participant identifies and engages a coach of their choosing. The participant provides the coach with their comprehensive development plan for the coach's review and counsel, to ensure appropriate activities have been defined to address the person's development needs.
